Myriam Sitbon was born in 1957 in Morocco. She emigrated to Israel, where she initiated into different artistic and practical techniques in an art school. She also devoted herself to lyric song, dance and theatre.
Her artistic taste soon led her to develop her talent in sculpture and particularly in the erection of bronze issue from her terra-cotta models.
Her topics match her personality, open-minded and turned to memory.
What she sculpts magnificently it is the memory of Jewish people, both their suffering in the Shoah and their daily joys.
With her origins, Myriam Sitbon stands at a crossroads of the Bible people, and it is this book that we find in her sculptures like a silent witness, close to a child (Une Page d’étude) or a Talmudist scholar.
However, this “MAINGICIENNE” of imatter does not hesitate to explore this intimate world which she loves so much. The woman’s body confronted to motherhood.
Her intimate approach has led her so far to execute works for major collectors.
She would like to present her work to a wide public. As part of this purpose, Dima Gallery exhibits her works.
