“I can never sketch out or explain what it is I am going to create when I embark upon a new sculpture.
The first step in creating a bronze sculpture is to create it out of wax. The feel of the hard warm wax under my fingers spurs my imagination. Things that were a fantasy in my mind begin to take shape in reality. Often reality becomes even more exciting to me than the fantasy.
The hands work and the head works and all the senses work together. In which direction this will take me I don’t know myself. It is a surprising journey for me every time. The process of this creation is what keeps me addicted to my work.”
