Fabienne Costa is a self-taught photographer but it is with great talent that she produces such vibrant and arousing images.
Her impeccable eye and insight into a scene or person enables her bring more emotion and feeling to a picture than what one would see from the single click of a button. It is as if she translates for us the true emotion of the subject captured. Her very colourful interpretation of such subjects enthuses on to discover more about the image they are looking at and the secrets they hold.
Fabienne, born in Paris 1959, takes us all around the world with her enlightened visions from Africa to America. The excitement and dynamism of New York to the cosmopolitan city of Paris are all captured and interpreted with a greater sense of passion, vitality and beauty which truly comes from her soul.
Her technique, using a vibrant pallet to compliment the emotion of a depiction, is particularly cunning. Whether she be using colour to turn slightly away from the real face or to extend the natural light, or shadow, the result is an animated moment captured and immortalized. This effect is further enhanced by her use of plexiglass, a light and soft material, which brings further transparency and depth to her work.
Fabienne Costa has been exhibited by Galerie Dima since 2007.
